Role
To welcome and support visitors arriving for the self-guided “Twelfth Night of Christmas” tour, ensuring a seamless, informative, and festive experience. You will check and sell tickets, guide guests into the historic house transformation, manage the flow of visitors, and answer queries with warmth and clarity.
Guest Services & Ticketing

Greet visitors with enthusiasm and a friendly demeanour, setting a welcoming tone for their festive journey.

Check pre-booked tickets and assist with on-site ticket sales as required.

Provide clear information on entry procedures, tour guidance, and navigation through the house.
Information & Wayfinding Support

Brief visitors on what to expect from the self-guided experience: brief them on themed rooms, story elements, and overall flow.

Answer questions regarding timings, accessibility, and site facilities, escalating complex queries to supervisors smoothly.
Operational Flow Management

Monitor and manage visitor entry, maintaining an orderly flow in line with timed entry slots (~30 minutes) Chiswick House Christmas.

Communicate effectively with FOH team members to ensure sessions begin as scheduled, avoiding congestion or overlap.
H&S & Environment Awareness

Maintain awareness of health and safety protocols in public-facing areas, including monitoring for hazards and assisting with safe crowd movements.

Follow emergency and evacuation procedures, and alert supervisors promptly about any incidents or near misses.
Festive Ambience & Site Presentation

Embody the event’s spirit—professional, courteous, and engaged—contributing to the overall magical atmosphere of Georgian revelry.

Maintain FOH zones (ticket desk, entrance, information points) in tidy, presentable condition throughout shifts.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Warm, approachable, and confident demeanour; excellent communicator.

Previous experience in customer-facing roles (ticketing, box office, front-of-house).

Reliable and punctual, with flexibility for weekend and evening work.

Basic understanding of visitor safety and crowd management principles.
Desirable
-
Experience in museums, historic houses, theatrical events, or immersive environments.

Familiarity with ticketing systems or point-of-sale technology.

First aid or emergency response training.
