OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
You will work across our Edinburgh Fringe campaigns, providing marketing and administrative support including on-sale and campaign coordination, social media, email and website content and schedule management, working on artwork briefs with external designers, coordinating deadlines with our media and press office and more.
You will work across the Underbelly destination campaign, including creating our festival guide as well as supporting the marketing team on our supported show campaigns. You’ll also be the first contact for the remaining shows in our programme, coordinating the support Underbelly provides to their shows and providing advice to optimise campaigns.
As well as working closely with the marketing team you’ll work with our teams internally including programming, operations, partnerships and production. You’ll also collaborate with on-site temporary staff whilst the festival is operational such as signage, content, box office, front of house, bar and site teams.
MAIN DUTIES
The main duties of this role include:
Campaign co-ordination
- Working with the marketing manager on the development of marketing campaigns, including working with external agencies, and providing campaign and administrational support.
- Supporting the marketing manager to effectively deliver events and show marketing materials to brand, on time and on budget. This may include briefing a designer, photographer or videographer and working with them to create assets for the required channels.
- Supporting all shows in the Underbelly programme, brainstorming new ideas and creative solutions throughout the festival
- Managing relationships with key suppliers and project managing approvals internally to hit their deadlines.
- Working with the press officer to make sure key information is passed over and communicated with press contacts
- Keeping up to date with current marketing, PR, and digital trends.
Digital Marketing
- Devising and implementing social campaigns and content and reporting on their effectiveness. Working closely with the social media officer to implement the best content for our campaigns
- Working with internal teams to identify, collect, and create content as required at venues and shows across the city while maintaining the tone of voice and brand of each event.
- Managing the website content to make sure information is up to date and the customer experience is maintained.
- E-newsletter creation, management, and distribution through Mail Chimp, managing and reporting on a range of different mailing lists.
- Identifying new ways to develop and expand Underbelly’s digital audience.
Onsite
- Working with the signage manager to book in show’s signage, delivering artwork on time and to spec.
- Working with the street team manager on target audiences for the shows
- Working with Underbelly’s press team to escort media on site, and assist with photo calls and press events.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Skills, experience, and person specification
- A minimum of one to two years experience in marketing (agency or client side) preferably in a fast-paced environment. Alternatively, a transferrable role within the arts and entertainment sector will also be considered.
- Experience in festivals or show-based marketing would be an advantage. A keen interest is a must.
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
- You have an excellent eye for detail and are happy proofing copy.
- You must be confident with a busy workload and be able to manage this effectively.
- We need someone who can take initiative and jump straight in where needed.
- You must be able (and happy) to work in a team environment.
- Some InDesign, Photoshop, HTML and/or Premiere Pro experience would be an advantage (or a willingness to learn).
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
