About Skate St George’s
Skate St George’s is Underbelly’s festive event on St George’s Plateau in the heart of Liverpool. The event brings together a seasonal ice rink, Christmas Tree Maze, bars, market traders, rides and other festive attractions to create a major city-centre Christmas destination.
Underbelly is looking for friendly and enthusiastic Christmas Tree Maze FOH Staff to help deliver a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Role Overview
Christmas Tree Maze FOH Staff are responsible for welcoming customers, managing admission and helping ensure the attraction operates safely and smoothly throughout the day.
This is a customer-facing role requiring strong communication skills, good situational awareness and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to the Christmas Tree Maze and provide a friendly and professional service.
- Check tickets and manage customer admission into the attraction.
- Monitor capacity and customer flow throughout the attraction.
- Provide customers with clear information about the attraction and any relevant rules.
- Monitor customer behaviour and report any safety concerns promptly.
- Help ensure children and vulnerable visitors are appropriately supported where required.
- Assist customers who require help while within or exiting the attraction.
- Support queue management during busy periods.
- Keep entrance, exit and surrounding attraction areas clean, tidy and presentable.
- Carry out basic operational and safety checks as directed.
- Report hazards, defects, damage or maintenance issues promptly.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and follow instructions from the Attractions Manager or Duty Manager.
- Support emergency and evacuation procedures where required.
- Answer basic visitor enquiries and provide directions around the wider event.
- Work collaboratively with Box Office, Security, Medical and other event teams.
- Follow Underbelly policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
- Undertake other reasonable duties required to support the operation of the attraction.
Person Specification
Essential
- Friendly, approachable and confident working with members of the public.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
- Good awareness of safety and customer welfare.
- Comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions.
- Able to work evenings, weekends and throughout the Christmas and New Year period as required.
Desirable
- Previous front of house, customer service, attraction, leisure or event experience.
- Experience working with families and children.
- First aid qualification.
