Job Title: Event Assistant

Rate of Pay: £120/day (including holiday pay) based on 3-6 day working week

The Nevill Holt Festival is an arts and culture festival held in the Leicestershire countryside each June. Building on a decade of opera performances, the festival now includes opera, concerts, conversations, performances, art exhibitions, family events and open gardens.
Your role of Event Assistant will see you working under the instructions of the Company, the festival Producers and the festival Production Manager. This role is an important member of the production team and will be integral in the admin running up to the festival and the operational running of the festival once it is live.

Role
- General admin - support the event team with issuing POs, chasing H&S documentation etc.
- Accreditation - coordinating contractor and staff requirements
- Site Reception - Sourcing hardware and materials as directed by build crew, and ensuring these arrive on site. Keeping track of temporary event hires to ensure they can be returned
- Comms - responsible for distribution of radios on site
- Accommodation - coordinating artist, contractor and staff requirements and liaising with accommodation providers
- Transport - coordinating staff and artist requirements, creating shuttle bus schedules and liaising with drivers/vehicle providers
- Resource - help create staff briefing packs, responsible for communicating schedule changes etc to staff and crew, co-ordinating contractor and staff requirements, recording build crew attendance each day
- Logistics support - coordinate onsite distribution of furniture, fire extinguishers, signage etc
- Operations support - supporting the operations team to ensure the festival runs as planned when live
Person Specification
- Confident, enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated.
- Good, clear verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to recognise potential health and safety issues before they arise.
- Demonstrable knowledge of customer service principles.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent timekeeping skills.
- Positive and flexible approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team whilst also being able to work independently.
